Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest covers approximately 2.9 million acres across northern Colorado and southeastern Wyoming. The diverse geography includes rugged mountain ranges, tranquil lakes, and dense woodlands, home to abundant wildlife such as moose, elk, and eagles. Historically rich, the forest contains evidence of Native American presence and remnants of mining activities.
